About Me

I’m from Lakeland, Florida, and I am a passionate writer, social media manager, and PR specialist. Growing up, I was either face first in a good book, or I was hunched over a piece of paper, scribbling down some sort of fictional story. Now that I’m older, not much has changed! I enjoy writing anything from blog posts and feature stories, to news articles or trending topics.

Aside from writing, I am totally a nerd for all things trendy, pop culture, and social media. I first discovered my passion for platforms while interning as a Social Media Manager one summer. That job truly opened my eyes to how much I loved an ever-evolving industry.

Currently, I work as an Account Manager for a social media agency. I guess you could say I live, eat, and BREATHE social media. *insert happy dance here*

No, but seriously, I truly love helping people with their online presence and showcasing all of the amazing-ness that their life (or business) entails. The only downside is that my own social media presence lacks sometimes. #SocialMediaManagerProbz.

Where it All Started

In 2012, I was flipping through Seventeen Magazine when I noticed the “Pretty Amazing Contest.” Readers were asked to write an inspiring story for a chance to win a scholarship and a spot on the cover. Typically, I wouldn’t have given any thought to a random contest. I mean, who wins those things anyway? Something was urging me to write, anyway.

I wrote about getting diagnosed with melanoma as a teen and how I overcame bullying from people who teased me about the leftover scar on my chest. Spoiler alert…I never won the contest. Although I did receive an email from the editor in chief explaining how my story inspired her to create a three-page spread dedicated solely to skin cancer awareness month. The kicker? She wanted to feature my story!

When I arrived in New York City, I was in awe. First of all, was this actually happening? I had my very own private SUV with a driver, an all inclusive hotel smack dab in Manhattan, and I was going to be meeting all of the masterminds behind Seventeen Magazine to do a photo-shoot!

While on set, there was an endless amount of catered food, editors, makeup artists, and a flamboyantly amazing man hyping me up behind a camera while offering me sips of Fiji water and touching up my makeup in between photos. Can you say paradise? It was at that very moment I knew I wanted to work in the realm of writing.

Following My Dreams

Shortly after that trip, I made a promise to myself that I would follow my dreams no matter how crazy, or unreachable, they seemed.

In 2015, I finished my AA in Liberal Arts at Polk State College. For a few years, I worked full-time at a couple of dead end jobs. To be honest, living in a small, boring city was a total dream killer and I felt so lost and confused. Reality kicked in, and my dreams were seeming more and more out of reach.

Finally, in 2018, I ditched the pity party and decided to pursue the one thing that had always kept me going. Writing! From there, I made the decision to go back to school AGAIN and I graduated in December of 2019 at the University of South Florida, where I earned my BA in Mass Communications with a focus in Journalism and Magazine.

From there, I had an insane drive to expand my knowledge and skills even more, which lead me to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Relations at Full Sail University. Now that I have my Master’s, I’m busy being a boss at social media and on high alert for the next exciting thing!

While it may sound like I’m all work and no play, I am actually the goofiest girl you’ll ever meet and I love sharing life stories and connecting with others on a deeper level.
